Throughout the week, sailors work toward achieving “Crew Status” — the first step toward completing the Sail Canada Basic Cruising level. Campers sail in and out of Toronto’s Inner Harbour, learning and refining key keelboat skills such as sail trim, reefing, anchoring, docking, and safe crew communication.

Sail Canada Student Participation Fee – What It Covers
All participants in our CANSail programs are registered with Sail Canada, the national governing body for sailing in Canada. A $25 Sail Canada student fee is applied once per year to support your child’s official certification and access to the national Checklick system.
This fee provides your child with a Sail Canada student profile and login, which allows you to:
View your child’s certifications and progress at any time
Track completed levels and skill achievements
Access their official Sail Canada record, recognized at sailing schools across the country
How it works:
The $25 fee is charged once per calendar year when your child participates in any Sail Canada course.
If your child completes CANSail 1 and 2 in the same year, you’ll only pay the fee once.
If they take CANSail 1 in 2026 and CANSail 2 in 2027, the fee would apply once in 2026 and once in 2027.
