Professional & Commercial Training
International Yacht Training Programs
For sailors looking to progress beyond the Sail Canada recreational pathway, we offer advanced training that supports both international chartering and professional maritime goals. After completing Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising, students may challenge the IYT Bareboat Skipper exam, earning both the Bareboat Skipper and International Certificate of Competency (ICC). These are recreational certifications, widely recognized for international bareboat chartering.
Those wishing to pursue professional-level certification can continue into the IYT Master of Yachts (MOY) programs. Start with the MOY 200 Tonne Limited (Offshore) – Theory course, followed by the 7-day live-aboard Practical session held in Florida. Successful candidates are qualified to operate vessels up to 200 tonnes and 150 nautical miles offshore. For the highest level of professional competency, the MOY 200 Tonne Unlimited (Ocean) – Theory course provides advanced celestial navigation and ocean passage planning, preparing mariners for unrestricted offshore operations.
Whether your goal is chartering internationally or pursuing a professional yachting career, our advanced programs provide the recognized credentials and training to take your skills to the next level.
