Pet Friendly Boating
Four Paws. One Boat. Toronto’s Waterfront.
Why should humans have all the fun?
Grab the lead, pack the treats and head to the waterfront for an adventure you can enjoy together. From cruising through Toronto’s Inner Harbour to relaxing on the water with the city skyline behind you, THNC makes it easy to include your four-legged crew member in your day out.
Because the best adventures are the ones you don’t have to leave them at home for.
Bring Your Best Mate Aboard
Boating is better with your best mate, and at Toronto Harbour Nautical Centre, we love welcoming four-legged crew members aboard.
Located right on Toronto's waterfront, THNC offers pet-friendly boating options so you don't always have to leave your dog behind when you're heading out on the water.
Whether you're cruising Toronto's Inner Harbour, taking in the skyline or simply enjoying a summer afternoon aboard, your dog can be part of the adventure too.
Which Boats Are Pet-Friendly?
Our Pontoons and Deckboats are particularly well suited to boating with dogs, with plenty of room aboard and easy access for getting on and off the boat.
Pets may also be permitted on some of our other boats depending on the vessel, the type of booking and the size and temperament of your pet.
Not sure which boat is best for you and your four-legged crew member? Give our team a call or send us an email and we'll be happy to help.

Pet Safety on the Water
Just like people, pets need a little preparation before heading out on the water.
We recommend:
· A properly fitted pet lifejacket/PFD
· Fresh drinking water and a bowl
· A leash for getting on and off the boat
· Protection from excessive sun and heat
· A towel, because somebody is inevitably getting wet!
· Making sure your dog has had a chance to go potty before heading out
· Starting with a shorter trip if it's your dog's first time aboard
Pets should be supervised at all times, particularly while boarding and departing the boat.
First Time Boating With Your Dog?
Some dogs immediately decide boating is the greatest invention in human history. Others need a little more convincing.
If it's your dog's first time on the water, we'd recommend choosing a calm day and starting with a shorter outing. Give them time to get comfortable aboard before heading off and make sure they have somewhere secure to sit or lie down.
And don't forget the photos, Toronto’s skyline makes a pretty spectacular backdrop for your newest crew member.
Pets on the Toronto Waterfront
Being part of Toronto's waterfront community means more to us than simply getting people out on boats.
We're working to make THNC a welcoming place for pets and their people and are looking at ways we can support organizations working with animals in our community.
More on this coming soon.
A Quick Note About Clean-Up
We love having dogs aboard, but please help us keep our boats clean and comfortable for the next crew.
Please make sure your dog has had a bathroom break before you leave the dock and clean up any excessive hair, mud or mess before returning the boat.
An additional cleaning fee may be charged if a boat is returned excessively dirty or requires additional cleaning due to your pet.
Owners are responsible for their pets while aboard, including their behaviour, safety, clean-up and any damage caused to the vessel.
